Join the body of Christ in this celebration of communion, known as the “Communion Feast.” The Communion Feast is the commemoration and proclamation of Jesus Christ’s death until He comes. We share a full meal together in much the same way as the disciples shared the Passover meal. It was during Passover that Jesus instituted this new feast of remembrance. At the end of our meal we share the bread and the wine which are symbols of Christ’s body and blood given for us as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sin. They remind us of His obedience and total sacrifice, and call forth thanksgiving and a renewed willingness to follow in His steps of submission to the Father. The Communion feast is not only a time of remembrance but also a time of proclamation. In sharing the bread and the wine together we publicly testify to the centrality of the death and resurrection of Christ to our faith. All that we believe is rooted in Him and what He accomplished at the cross on our behalf. It is a time of celebration for Believers as Christ’s death on our behalf gives us eternal hope through the forgiveness of our sins and the guarantees us entrance into the eternal Heaven. Come and remember the Lord only until He comes again.
Men Serving @ Women's Retreat 2017
November 10th - November 11th, 2017
"We have an awesome opportunity to serve the women of Hickman Community Church during the Women's Retreat.
WHY DO WE SERVE?
The body of Christ must serve
The body of Christ is just that- a body, and a body is in need of its other members in order to function well. God’s Word commands us that through love we are to, “serve one another” (Gal. 5:13). We are to be “devoted to one another in brotherly love” (Rom. 12:10) and “contribute to the needs of the saints” (Rom. 12:13). The body must function as a body and serve one another.
We need the fellowship
We are members of one another (Rom. 12:5) and we need fellowship. A bond is always created or strengthened when we do constructive tasks together. It is good to let a brother or sister serve us and enjoy the bond of Christ as we engage in ministerial as well as earthly tasks. God did not intend us to be lone rangers but he intended us be a part of a body that needs others."

Women's Retreat 2017

This is a special time to come together as women to enjoy the teaching of God's truth, strengthen friendships, encourage one another and relax.
Retreat Speaker - Christy Hoeks
Christy has been married to her husband, Rob, for 25 years. She is a mother of 5 children and a new grandma to a beautiful little girl named, Frankie. She and her husband love a full house, and have a heart to bring in orphans of every age! She doubts they will experience the “empty nest” stage any time soon! Their most recent “adoption” was their son, Brandin, who is 41 years old! She also has the privilege of serving as the Wedding Coordinator at her church in Southern California, (Grace Community Church, Sun Valley). She feels blessed to be entrusted with such a special day. Her lifelong pursuit has been to repent of sinful fear and to learn to trust our faithful Father. It is not surprising to anyone who knows her well that the theme for our weekend is "From Fear to Faith"! She is looking forward to our time together, when we will mutually encourage one another to love and trust our Savior more!
